Wuyi Mountain is located in the north of Fujian Province. This beautiful environment offers a unique environment for growing tea trees. Wuyi Rock Tea was invented during the end of the Ming Dynasty and beginning of the Qing Dynasty. All the 99 rocks in Wuyi Mountain have tea growing on them.Wuyi Shuixian is probaply the most famous and widely used Wuyi tea, it has a history of more than a hundred years. In our teashop we offer two kinds of Wuyi Shuixian, one good for daily usage, whereas the Wuyi Shuixian Premium is recommended for people already familiar with Wuyi tea. Wuyi Shuixian Premium is also suitable for long term preservation and in fact will only become more mature in taste.
Appearance Leaf: Strong and bold. It's colour is lustrous brown with slight green. Part of leaves have obvious "sand grains".
Liquid: Brilliant and deep orange color.
Taste: Vivid, smooth and sweet.
Fragrance: Vivid orchid aroma
Origin: Wuyi Shan City, Fujian Province
Harvest time: Winter, 2007
To brew Shuixian, first put dry tea leaves (ratio leaves to water, 1:4) in Gaiwan, yixing clay pot or porcelain teapot, then pour 95 degree boiled water into the teaware. Steeping time for first round can be up to 20 to 30 seconds. Steeping time can be prolonged with each subsequent brew. This tea can be brewed for 5 rounds at least.
