Name: Mengding Ganlu

Mengding Ganlu, literally Sweet Dew, is a renowned green tea from Meng Mountain, Sichuan Province. Its existence traces back to far in history, at the time of the Ming Dynasty, local annals suggest it was invented on the foundation of two teas. Up to now, Mengding Ganlu has been developed into a uniquely charming curly green tea. It's sweet aftertaste, its charming appearance and good price value make this a very good pick.
Appearance leaf: Fresh green curly leaves with plenty of silver pekoe. It emits a mixed aroma of pekoe and chestnut.
Infusion: Quite light yellow in color. Very clear. It emits a mixed aroma of pekoe and chestnut.
Taste: Strong flavor of chestnut, slightly sweet at first sip. It soothes in throat and gets sweeter.
Origin: Mingshan County, Sichuan Province

To brew Mengding Ganlu, first put dry tea leaves (ratio leaves to water, 1:50) into the gaiwan, porcelain or glass teapot, then pour 85 degree boiled water into the teaware. Another brewing method that can be used for tis tea is to first pour boiled water to about one third of the glass/cup/teapot, next put dry tea leaves in the glass and then again pour 85 degree hot water into the glass/cup/teapot till about 70%.This method is often used as a way to avoid the tender leaves to become damaged by the cooking hot water. Steeping time for first round can be up to 15 to 20 seconds. Steeping time can be prolonged with each subsequent brew. Mengding Ganlu tea can be brewed for 3 rounds.
