Mengding Huangya belongs to the division of "yellow bud tea". Because of its complex production methods and required skills the amount of output of this tea is not a lot. The production method of this tea still follow the ancient way, unlike many other yellow teas which have production methods very similiar to green tea in general. This tea is lightly oxidized with a strong fragrance. This tea also complies with the so-called "three yellows", that is, "Yellow dry leaves" "Yellow liquid" and "Yellow wet leaves". The Mengding Huangya that we offer here comes from the first flush of this spring, it is thus called "Mingqian tea".
Appearance Leaf: Flat and straitgh, with a deep yellow colour
Liquid: Bright yellow
Taste: Sweet and strong
Fragrance: Strong with a hint of fruitiness

To brew Mengding Huangya, first put dry tea leaves (ratio leaves to water, 1:50) in Gaiwan, porcelain or glass teapot, then pour 80 degree boiled water into the teaware. Since this tea leaf is rather potent we advice you to not let it steep too long the first time. Steeping time can be prolonged with each subsequent brew. This tea can be brewed for 3 rounds.
